Summit Center
The Summit Center's mission is older adults engaged in activities and service to improve their quality of life and their community. What does that mean?
- older adults = 55+ (no upper limit)
- engaged = active, "positive aging" as defined by the National Wellness Institute as important people in midlife and beyond: social, intellectual, emotional, physical, spirtual, and occupational
- in activities = the calendar found in the monthly News of the Summit, on Summit Center whiteboards, or online
- and services = tax preparation, medication management project, caregiver support, peer counselors
- to improve their quality of life and their community = seniors guide Summit Center programming with the support of VINE staff, volunteers, and donors. VINE's "culture of caring" extends to the Summit Center in support of VINE's mission to coordinate volunteers and services to assist people with long-term health needs or difficult life circumstance.
Too young to participate? Call Jim Kirschbaum at 345-5262 to volunteer your talents ... lead a discussion, bike ride, computer class, or other activities.
