Designed to serve people over the age of sixty living in Blue Earth and Nicollet Counties.
VINE's trained and insured volunteer drivers are available to help older adults to shop and do errands. If needed, our caring volunteers can even help you to select and carry in your groceries.
We can arrange transportation for medical and other appointments and can help you to continue to enjoy life by providing rides to social and congregational events. People may request a volunteer escort to both drive them to their medical appointment and accompany them during their doctor's visit.
VINE's volunteer driver program is designed to serve people over the age of sixty living in Blue Earth and Nicollet Counties. On a limited basis, we provide rides for people under the age of sixty with disabilities and for people who are encountering difficult life circumstances.
The program is not intended to be a person's only source of transportation. We do not provide rides to work.
After a person has been registered with VINE, requests for local rides must be made 24 hours in advance. Since our office is not open on weekends, requests for rides on Monday must be made by noon on the preceding Friday. Limited weekend transportation is available at VINE.
Transportation to out-of-town medical appointments is available through VINE. In order to arrange a driver, please call us as soon as your appointment has been made.
VINE's senior transportation program is supported through donations from riders and their family members and the generosity of Blue Earth County Human Services. Seniors living in Nicollet County may also call 931-6800 to arrange a ride through the Nicollet County Volunteer Driver Program.
VINE works closely with the staff at County Human Services to provide rides for their clients. Feel free to contact VINE's Transportation Coordinator to discuss your needs.
